Dr. Kaitlin Johnson leaves Bailey Lab to join UC Boulder

Kaitlin Johnson stands in front of a wall, smiling.

The Bailey Lab wishes a fond farewell to Kaitlin Johnson as she starts a postdoctoral fellowship in Thomas Cech's lab at the University of Colorado Boulder. We can’t wait to see what she accomplishes there!

Kaitlin's work in our lab focused on understanding how the Thermotoga maritima Type III-B CRISPR systems targets, identifies and cleaves DNA.

Kaitlin defended her PhD thesis, “Activation of a transcription-dependent CRISPR-Cas system,” earlier this year. You can read about her most recent paper, Target sequence requirements of a type III-B CRISPR-Cas immune system, in our post, What Makes a Match?
